A few years ago, MK Reed, Liz Baillie and Robin Enrico decided that it would be fun to give awards to people they liked, to show them how much we appreciate them.

We figured it would be even funnier to make their categories specific only to them. And it would be best of all if the awards were beer bottles with custom made labels on them! Best of all... we would come up with 30 second music clips for each winner, so they could accept their "award" to their own personal theme.

We decided to institute our new awards ceremony at SPX 2006 and it was such a success we kept doing it every year. And every year, the new nominees are chosen by the previous year's winners.
